Soft lips are desirable and let’s be honest, dry lips are uncomfortable. Overexposure to the sun or the summertime breeze can cause lips to become chapped from loss of natural oils in the lips’ skin. That's why it's important to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated - especially when you're out and about in the sunshine.
Try drinking room temperature water and throw a lemon wedge in for flavor. The bottom line is that the summer months can be harsh on your lips’ sensitive skin and we have to be proactive if we want kissable lips! A perfect lip moisturizing gloss is always a must. As long as you have a clear moisturizer for your lips, you can always wear whatever lipstick color you want. So, do not worry about having to change your makeup routine. This is just one additional step in your skincare regiment. It’s actually simple and fun to make your own lip moisturizer with natural ingredients that are amazing for your lips’ delicate skin.
Aloe Vera is naturally soothing, while both Vaseline and Coconut oil serve to retain moisture and hydrate. This is key, because we want smooth, sexy lips all year round. Matte lipsticks are en vogue right now, and matte lipstick shows every imperfection. Unlike gloss that hits the lights, there is no glossy effect to distract from chapped lips.
