Dr. A. Jay Burns is currently an assistant professor of plastic surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and has his private practice in Dallas. Dr. Burns was born and raised in Garland, Texas. He graduated from Baylor University magna cum laude. He was honored as Outstanding Junior Alumni of Baylor University in 1994. Dr. Burns graduated from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honorary academic society. He completed an internship and residency in general surgery at the University of Utah Affiliated Hospitals in Salt Lake City followed by a residency in plastic surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He then went on to complete specialty training in vascular anomalies and birthmarks at Harvard Affiliated Hospitals. He is board certified in plastic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Burns has chaired many laser conferences and is a noted national and international speaker and authority on lasers and cosmetic surgery, and vascular anomalies and birthmarks.
Listed as one of Texas Monthly's "Super Doctors" since 2005, it's no wonder Dr. Burns cosmetic and plastic surgery practice is well-respected among peers and patients alike. A proud partner of the Dallas Plastic Surgery Insititute, Dr. Burns is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is at the forefront of innovative procedures for breast augmentations and facelifts.
